And just like that…September is half over!?!?
My oh my how time flies. Time to bust out those thick comfy blankets and give them a good washing, stock up on some hot cocoa mix, pumpkin spices and more coffee mugs!
ON WRITING:
I got started on a whole new project after spending nearly 2 months editing The Shoes that Charlotte Wore. I don’t know why it took me so long to get through it. I have a habit of needing to finish what I start before I start something else otherwise things will never get done. I’m just that kind of person which is why I have not gone back to write the missing chapters in The Nationalist. I know if I touch it, I will start reworking it and I don’t want to go there just yet.
I don’t have a name for the new project yet but I will call it Project X for now. I have 6 chapters written so far and hopefully will get a few more done over the weekend. It’s probably a long shot because I don’t normally have much time to write. But, granted that all goes well and I can get 2-3 chapters written each week, I might have something new for you to read come October. OMG, October!!!
But anyway, speaking of The Nationalist, I’m just going to go ahead and post the last few chapters. Yes there will be a gap of time but at least you’ll read how it ends. My laptop is completely unsaveable so that means I do need to shop for a new one. Waiting for Black Friday.
As for TSTCW, I have this on hold. I want to get it into the hands of a professional editor but that costs $$$ and it’s something I need to save for. Meanwhile I am periodically pitching it to smaller presses in hopes that maybe someone will pick it up and the professional editing will get paid for. But who knows? Just throwing that out into the universal sea to see if I get a bite.
ON READING:
I finished reading Behold, A Pale Horse. It’s very interesting and there’s loads of references to other books to read as well as sources used in the book to support Cooper’s claims. It’s actually kind of scary to think about uber-rich crazy people running the world and telling us what we should do. I mean, Bill Gates went from computers, to vaccinations, to U.S. farming land, and now investing into water treatment. You know this could only be bad.
I am currently reading The Black Fang Betrayal which I believe you can download free from Amazon without having to subscribe to their Kindle Unlimited. This book was written by 10 or so authors and follows the different members of the Black Fang coven of warlocks as they complete their individual quests to find the golden floren pieces of a powerful artifact. Why? Because their leader is going to step down and hand over the coven to one of them who successful reatrieve the florens, but the quests are deadly because other powerful warlocks guard them. I’m about 100 pages into the book and it’s been entertaining from the start.
EVERYTHING ELSE:
October is right around the corner and I can’t wait for Knott’s Scary Farm. I wish the Queen Mary was open this year but I think they’re doing some major remodeling and creating some kind of mini theme park at the pier for it.
This summer I had loads of fun and it seemed like every weekend was packed with something. We took the seadoos out to the lake, spent a week in Cancun (Oh I want to go back!!!!), tried all the water slides at Knott’s Soak City, and now I’m working on what field trips to take my kids on this school year. We’re homeschooling. In addition, it’s time to plan next year’s vacations too. Then there’s the holidays… I love the holidays. What’s your favorite part of the year? Did you do anything fun over the summer?
